Project Description

Our workshop receives quite often requests for various prototypes and models from somewhat “atypical” fields compared to classical architecture. As it is the case with this project. Topographic (or geographic) models are designed for various purposes: military, for an easier administration of certain sectors, for the study of landforms, flora and fauna, in universities, or exhibited in museums with various specificities.

Geographic models are made, in most cases by CNC processing, from materials with different densities. Generally, the most used materials are polystyrene or wood. In this case, the fabrication of the mold was made out of polystyrene, over which a water-based acrylic paint was applied. The mountain trails were signaled through a led wire lighting system, powered by a switch. There were different colors for each route.
